Replacing a double barrel carburettor.


Disconnect the battery.


Undo the rubber tube connected to the air filter.


Undo the fuel tube.


Disconnect the choke cable.


Disconnect the throttle cable, by removing the clevis pin.


Detach the throttle spring from the carburettor.


Unscrew the 4 carburettor nuts, using a size 12 socket spanner.


Remove the throttle cable support.


The carburettor can now be removed.

Remove the carburettor’s insulator block.


Clean the surface of the tube.


Open your new carburettor box , you will find a throttle cable support, a paper carburettor block gasket, and the carburettor itself.

We suggest that you change the carburettor’s insulator block.

Grease both sides of the block gasket.

Install the insulator block and gasket, ensuring that they are correctly aligned.

Fit the new carburettor.

Screw on the two front nuts of the carburettor and put the throttle support in place.

Screw into place the two rear nuts.

Tighten all four carburettor nuts.

Put the throttle cable back unto its support. Reattach the throttle cable, and fix it with the clevis pin.

Reinstall the throttle spring.

Check the throttle cable tension. Have another person press the throttle pedal down, and check the carburettor flap is correctly open. If needed the cable can be regulated.


Before fixing your choke cable in place, make sure that the choke flap is in its original position, flap open.

You can now install the choke cable. Attach the cable to the cable grip, leave it loose for the moment, you will tighten it later.

Fix the sheath stop in place and tighten the mounting screw.

Before tightening the choke cable, check that the choke flap is open and that the choke button is in position zero, completely pushed in.

Now tighten the choke cable.

Check that the cable is functioning correctly.


Your carburettor is now installed.


Check the condition of your fuel pipe, and fix it in place.


You can reconnect the rubber air tube to the carburettor. Make sure it is correctly attached to the carburettor and tighten.


We suggest that after changing your carburettor, that you change also the air and fuel filters.


Reconnect your battery, and start up. Check that all is correctly tightened and adjust if necessary the idle speed.

Everything is perfect. Do not forget to ask your mechanic to control the pollution.
