Unepic review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Unepic on the eShop for the Nintendo Wii U developed by Treyarch and published by Activision.

One minute, you’re standing at the urinal. The next, you’re in some weird dungeon being possessed by a spirit. Hey, who among us hasn’t had that happen? The nerdy protagonist of Unepic, Daniel can certainly relate. He’s been transported to a creepy castle with more than 200 rooms to explore, and now, he’s stuck in a Metroidvania experience that may or may not be a figment of his imagination. Originally released on PCs, Unepic has made its way to Nintendo’s Wii U via the eShop and makes great use of the system’s unique controller. Players can play Unepic on the GamePad entirely, or as a controller, they can assign items to the touch screen for fast access. The game includes 70 spells to cast, as well as 100 different weapons scattered around the castle. It’s a lot to chew, but not many games taste more like Simon Belmont than this retro single-player adventure.

This video review features video gameplay footage of Unepic on the eShop for the Nintendo Wii U and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
