Man Without Pants Lights Hotel Room on Fire

A man in Beaverton, Oregon, who reportedly refused to wear pants, was recently taken into police custody after he started a fire in a hotel room and would not come out.
A man in Beaverton, Oregon, who refused to wear pants, was recently taken into police custody after he allegedly started a fire in a hotel room and would not come out.
The report came from another person staying at the establishment who said a fire had broken out in an adjacent room. Thankfully that witness was able to gain access inside the space and put out the flames.
Local police were sent to the Budget Inn, located on Southwest Canyon Road at a little after 4 am on a Wednesday to investigate. Officers quickly noticed a man, 67-year-old Christoper Coan walking through the parking lot of the hotel, wearing no pants.
When the strange male spotted cops, he retreated back to his room, the same one where the fire had started. Law enforcement authorities attempted to speak to Coan, but he locked himself inside and refused to come out.
Coan stayed in there for approximately an hour before cops were finally able to take him into custody. He was charged with arson, reckless endangering and criminal mischief. According to a police spokesman, Coan has a previous record of mental illness.
