Grada Kilomba who came to Germany from Portugal is a Professor of Gender Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin. She has roots in the West African islands São Tomé and Príncipe and is the author of Plantation Memories. Her writing deals with memory, trauma, racism and post-colonialism.
