Higgs boson scientists share Nobel Prize for physics

For many in the Nobel community, this year's physics prize is hardly a surprise.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) STAFFAN NORMARK, PERMANENT SECRETARY OF THE ROYAL SWEDISH ACADEMY OF SCIENCES SAYING:
"The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2013 Nobel Prize in Physics to professor Francois Englert at Universite Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium, and Peter Higgs at University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom."
Englert and Higgs are taking home the prize for their work on the Higgs boson, the particle that explains how elementary matter attained the mass to form stars and planets.
