It’s not just humans that enjoy a birthday cake. A huge female panda at San Diego zoo named Bai Yun recently celebrated her 22nd birthday in style with a five foot tall cake.

Zookeepers presented the massive treat to Bai Yun only minutes before the zoo opened up to the public. When visitors arrived, they got to witness the panda contently picking at and enjoying her surprise.

The cake took a total of four weeks to create. It was made from ice, fruit, bamboo and pureed yam. In the end it weighed about 215 pounds.

A senior keeper at the facility, Kathy Hawk stated “Bai Yun is one special bear and deserves a special celebration. I remember her arrival at the zoo when she was a 5-year-old full of wonder and energy.”

The moment Bai Yun first saw the cake, she walked up to it and began licking the ice and eating the bamboo. She has proven to be quite a contributor to the zoo. Since living there, she has given birth to six cubs.
