The Hobbit - The Desolation of Smaug TRAILER - Released

The first trailer for "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug," the second installment of Peter Jackson's trilogy,is out. The elf-filled two-minute spot features the return of Orlando Bloom as Legolas — the role which launched his career in 2001, and the debut of Evangeline Lilly as Tauriel. Most notably, the trailer offers viewers the first look at Smaug, the deadly dragon played in motion capture by Benedict Cumberbatch. Though we don't get to hear the awful creature, we do at least see the dragon whose name comprises the film title. The second installment in the prequel trilogy follows Frodo Baggins' older cousin Bilbo, the dwarves and Gandalf as they continue on their journey to get the gold back from Smaug.
